 My name is Heather Manners, and I am the Patient Coordinator here at Viana Family Dental Centre. Being part of Dr. Viana's team in Kilworth is very rewarding, both personally and professionally. I truly enjoy working with both our staff and our patients to ensure that we are providing the very best dental care possible.
Dentistry is actually my second career, after spending 7 years working as an announcer in radio broadcasting. In 2004, I attended the Fanshawe College Dental Assisting Program, where I did well academically and clinically. As a Fanshawe Dental Assisting student, I was granted the opportunity to assist students in the Dentistry program at the University of Western Ontario. After graduating in 2005 and working for a couple of years in the field, I was asked to be a clinical evaluator at UWO for the dental assisting students, which has been a wonderful experience for me, and hopefully for the students!
While I initially worked chairside as an assistant for quite some time, the last 3 years have seen me take on more of an administrative role in the dental field. At the same time, if Dr. Viana or one of the hygienists needs a hand in the clinic, I'm more than ready to jump in and get 'hands on'!
Kilworth has been my home since 2009. I was raised in Chesley, in beautiful Bruce County and over the years have spent time living in Chatham, Owen Sound and London. Both my daughter and I love being a part of the Kilworth/Komoka community and the sense of inclusion and neighbourhood that we feel here.
