My name is Dr. Lora Liu Yang and I am pleased to be joining Dr. Viana's team as the associate dentist. Originally from Harbin, a city located in the northern part of China, I came to Canada when I was only four. I attended primary school in Toronto before moving to Quebec City, where I completed most of my education and training. Therefore, my background has provided me with the priceless asset of being fluent in Chinese, English and French. I attended high school at Collège Saint-Charles Garnier, one of the finest private institutions in Quebec; graduating in 2000 with the mention of Summa Cum Laude.

Subsequently, I graduated on the Dean's Honour List at Champlain St. Lawrence Cegep and obtained my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from University Laval in 2006. This marked a milestone in my life; it represented both the beginning of my career as a dentist and the end of four unforgettable years of dental school.

My motivation to pursue dentistry stems from the desire to serve the public and the need to be the best. Continuing on this path, I moved to London this past year and enrolled in the esteemed one-year General Practice Residency program offered by the University of Western Ontario. As a dental resident, I gained in-depth medical knowledge, allowing me treat numerous medically compromised patients. As well, I acquired various technical skills by taking part in multiple surgeries involving the oro-facial complex. Furthermore, I was called upon to treat various dental emergencies as I practiced hospital dentistry at both LHSC and St. Joseph's Hospital.

As a dentist, I believe in providing excellent patient care and follow-up. This means staying up-to- date with the latest developments in the field of dentistry and taking part in continuing education. There is always more to learn. I am passionate and I love what I do. This is as true as for work as it is for life. My boyfriend and I have just moved into our new home. There is still work to be done, but finally, our home. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, playing golf, learning, listening to music and reading. In September, I am planning to teach oral surgery periodically to the students at the University of Western Ontario Dental School. I also plan to help this community grow through various events and dental programs.

My personal objective is to break down the stigma and fear surrounding dental care. I will aim to provide the best patient care in an enjoyable and comfortable setting. I feel strongly that dental care should be accessible to all and each individual should take it upon themselves to show off their best possible smile. Our team will make sure that the treatment we provide is currant and of the utmost quality. Have a pleasant visit. I look forward to seeing you at our office.
